Tips on choosing a pet sitter
  1. Ask friends, your veterinarian, local pet stores, or animal shelters for recommended pet sitters. This is a good way to avoid people with bad track records.
  2. You can also contact Pet Sitters International for a pet sitter recommendation.
  3. Make sure the pet sitter is bonded and insured.
  4. Invite the prospective pet sitter over for a trail visit with your pet. You want to know if your pet doesn't like the person before you leave him/her in their care while you are away.
  5. Discuss rates or possible hidden fees an agreement or contract should be outlined.
  6. Ask the pet sitter for a list of references and check them out.
  7. Determine if the pet sitter associated with a veterinarian who can provide emergency services and will they transport your pet if necessary.

What my customers have said:

"Thank you for being such a wonderful pet sitter and a great person. It's nice to have someone I completely trust to care for my animals. It is nice of you to offer to go out of your way for Duke. He and I both appreciate you more than I can say!" L.M.

"Everything was great! - So nice to know our cat Lucy was being petted and combed not just fed. It was also a relief not to have to stop then mail." L.L.

"Your service is wonderful. My wife and I just moved to the area. We don't know the neighbors well enough to trust anyone to come into our home while we're away. Plus, I appreciate the time and care you take with them (our cats). Kali especially is a real loving cat and needs human affection not just more food and fresh water." B.P.

"I deeply appreciate your watching Rusty for us. He seemed happy when we returned, and I know from your notes you learned he likes you if he jumps on your lap and dances in circles." D.S.

"Excellent and thorough care of the animals and house. I would definitely ask you to work for us again and would recommend you highly." E.M.
